As of 2025, USCIS is continuing to accept and process DACA renewals for existing recipients. If you currently hold DACA, now is the time to act — renewing early protects your work authorization and shields you from deportation while your application is pending.

Who Can Renew DACA in 2025?

USCIS is currently only accepting renewal applications — not new initial applications. You can renew if you currently have DACA or previously held DACA that expired after July 16, 2021.

Renew 5–6 months before your current DACA expires.

• Form I-821D — Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
• Form I-765 — Application for Employment Authorization
